Mrs. Rebecca Gay Hemperley, age 79, of Hogansville, passed away on March 26, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Hemperley was born on January 7, 1940 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Carlos Mason Hemperley, Jr. and Sara Ellen Yarbrough Hemperley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Mickey Hemperley and Carlos Mason “Butch” Hemperley, III. She earned her Master’s Degree from LaGrange College and was a long time teacher in the Troup County School System.

Survivors include her sons, Henry Alton “Hank” Jones, III and Andrew Hemperley Jones and his wife Darlene; daughter, Rebecca Gay Nicholson and her husband Graham; sister, Bobbie Kite; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family.
