Obituary

Mr. Don Edgar E’Dalgo, Jr., age 78 of Stockbridge, Georgia passed away February 24, 2019. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Don Edgar E’Dalgo, Sr. and Kathryn Frances Swafford E’Dalgo. Don graduated from Russell High School, Class of 1958. He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy for one year and then completed three more years in the United States Air Force. Don had a long career in law enforcement starting with the East Point Police Department and moved on to the Fulton County District Attorney's Office. While with Fulton County he worked in the Narcotics Division as a Special Agent and Indictments Supervisor. He retired after 34 years with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. After retiring, he worked for the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the Henry County District Attorney’s Office Flint Circuit and finally as a Bailiff with the Henry County Probate Court. He was a member of Eagles Landing First Baptist Church, the East Point Masonic Lodge and was Past President of the Eagles Landing Touchdown Club. After having three daughters, Don wanted a son and got his wish when Donny was born. Don enjoyed time with his grandchildren and coaching baseball and football. He loved fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle, watching football and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. He also loved to cook and eat with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Nolan Don E’Dalgo. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lois E’Dalgo; children, Denise Magnus of Newnan, Diana E’Dalgo of Newnan, Debra (Mike Miller) E’Dalgo of Athens and Don Michael (Katie) E’Dalgo of McDonough; grandchildren, Christopher James Magnus of Newnan, Joshua Kell of Athens, Delilah Elizabeth E’Dalgo and Julianna Grace E’Dalgo. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 3, 2019 – 2:30 PM in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Tim Dowdy will officiate. Interment will follow at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery in Jenkinsburg. Friends may visit the family Saturday from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Don may be made to St. Jude's or the charity of one’s choice. In the words of Don, "That's it, good luck!"

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lois E’Dalgo; children, Denise Magnus of Newnan, Diana E’Dalgo of Newnan, Debra (Mike Miller) E’Dalgo of Athens and Don Michael (Katie) E’Dalgo of McDonough; grandchildren, Christopher James Magnus of Newnan, Joshua Kell of Athens, Delilah Elizabeth E’Dalgo and Julianna Grace E’Dalgo.
