Obituary

Allen Donald Martin, age 84, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on August 13, 2025. He was born in East Point, Georgia on October 20, 1940, son of the late John Martin and the late Frances Driggers Widener. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Don served on the USS Midway. Don was a member of Central Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Marlene Hembree Martin; children: Rebecca Swofford, Kyle Swofford and his wife Denise, Lisa Martin Pope and her husband David, Leslie Martin; grandchildren: Matthew K Bohannon and his wife Brittany Gray, Alicia Bohannon Torrevillas and her husband Topher, Christopher Swofford and his husband Marlin Ranson, Nicole Swofford; great-grandchildren: Khole Bohannon, Colton Bohannon; brothers: Larry Widener, Herbert (H.L.) Martin, Robert Martin.

The family will receive friends at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Charles Gibbs officiating.
Interment will follow at Central Baptist Church Cemetery.
