Funeral services for Airman 2nd Class James Earl Maxwell of 1337 Cleveland Avenue, East Point, were held Tuesday, May 26, at the Chapel of Howard L. Carmichael and Sons. The Rev. W. M. Bishop officiated. Airman Maxwell, 24 years old, was killed in a May 11th plane crash in the Phillipine Islands. He was a native of this area where he spent most of his life. Prior to enlistment in 1961, he was graduated from Russell High School and attended West Georgia College and the University of Alabama. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James H. Maxwell, brother, Don Maxwell, all of East Point. Burial was in Sherwood Memorial Cemetery.
